PROSIT, wine and prosciutto bar

Sorrento
Italy

Rooms on different levels take you on a varied and enchanting journey through the flavours and fragrances of Italian and Mediterranean food and wine. We are talking about Prosit, a business established in 2020 by the Pollio cousins, heirs to a family that has stimulated the taste buds of the Sorrento peninsula for almost four generations.

All the rooms, including one where guests can make purchases or enjoy quick meals, another on a higher level offering an informal dining environment, and a third – more private and intimate – on a lower floor, are decorated with materials like Carrara marble, oxidised metals and coloured wood to produce a lively, contemporary feel.

In areas decorated with industrial flavours, references to seafaring traditions and seventeenth century refinement, customers can savour wines of all varieties, accompanied by typical dishes, cheeses, and especially hams and cold cuts of different provenance, all knowingly selected and including the products of local artisans, guardians of the secrets behind intense flavours and magical fragrances.

DISPLAYING WITHOUT DISTURBING

What would be the best cabinet to display Prosit’s selected wines effectively without detracting attention from the unique surroundings?

That was the question asked at the first meeting with Prosit.

INNOVATIVE, INDUSTRIAL STYLE WINE DISPLAYS

As soon as we met the architect, we immediately noticed the presence of materials like wood and oxidised metals in the design and mood board. The look of the premises played on an exchange between modern energy and old elegance, between tradition and experimentation. This immediately made us think of a latest-generation product with striking design and great performance: our i.Am 2000 wine display.

We therefore worked with Prosit’s carpenter to create a custom-made wooden bottle rack around two i.Am displays arranged on opposite sides of the most intimate room. Each display contains up to 260 bottles. With lightweight silver surrounds and a black body, these cabinets integrate perfectly with the room, hinting at the dark colour of the wine bottles and at decorative details like oxidised sheet metal and exposed pipes.

FOUR DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES FOR EACH i.Am DISPLAY

Given the variety of wines Prosit intends to offer, we suggested models with static refrigeration. Static refrigeration technology allows up to four different temperatures to be set inside the same cabinet. This permits wines of quite different characteristics to be displayed and served under conditions that maintain nose and palate without creating problems of space.

The result met the highest expectations of Prosit: the room’s wine displays seem custom-designed to match the venue’s overall look and feel. They are also highly effective in drawing the attention of diners and enticing them to try out the wines on offer.
